NOTE TO SELF: INSPIRING WORDS

I made this compilation of inspiring words, thoughts, and quotes to help
me gain perspective on my life while teaching me to not take things too
seriously.  It will also help me change my focus from the problems
to the solutions, and most of all these inspirational quotes may
give or bring answers to the question that I have been searching
the answers for about how to live my life.

Note To Self
~

If you aren't being treated with love and respect,
check your price tag.  Maybe you're marked yourself
down.  It's you who tells people what you're worth.
Get off the
CLEARANCE RACK
and get behind the glass where they keep
the
VALUABLES.

~
The most fabulous people don't have the
best of everything.  The most fabulous
people make the best of everything
they have!

~
Do not take over much thought for
tomorrow.  GOD, who has led you
safely on so far, will lead you on the end.
Be altogether at rest in the loving
holy confidence which you ought
to have in HIS heavenly PROVIDENCE

~
No one is perfect, we all make mistakes.
Despite our failings, we still deserve
respect.  Don't let anyone put your down!

~
Nothing in this world can take the place
of persistence.  Talent will not, nothing
is more common than unsuccessful
people with talent.  Genius will not;
unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full
of educated derelicts.  Persistence
and determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan "press on" has solved and
always will solve the problems of
the human race.

~
No matter how badly people treat you,
never drop down to their level,
just know you are better and
walk away.

~
You'll never change your life until
you change something you do daily.
The secret of your success is found
in your daily routine.

~
I put zero weight into anyone's opinion about me
because I know exactly who I am.
Can you say the same?

~
I am built to get punched in the mouth.
I'll spit my front tooth out, look right
back at you and be like,
"Now what Bitch?"

~
Do all the good you can
by all means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can'
In all the times you can,
To all the people as long as
you ever can.

~
Everything is energy and that's all
there is to it.  Match the frequency
of the reality you want and you
cannot help but get the reality.
It can be no other way.  This is
not philosophy.  This is physics.

~
Namaste
My soul honors your soul.
I honor the place in you
where the entire universe resides.
I honor the light, love, truth,
beauty and peace within you,
because it is also within me.
In sharing these things
we are united, we are the same,
we are one.

~
Infuse your life with action.
Don't wait for it to happen.
Make it happen.
Make your own future.
Make your own hope.
Make your own love.
And whatever your beliefs,
honor your Creator,
not by passively waiting
for grace to come down
from upon high, but by doing
what you can to make grace happen...
yourself, right now, right down
here on earth.

~
Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits,
the rebels, the troublemakers,
the roundpegs in the squareholes,
the one who see things differently.
They're not fond of rules.
You can quote them, disagree with them,
glorify or vilify them, but the only thing
you can't do is ignore them, because
they change things and while some see
them as crazy ones, we see genius, because
the one's who are crazy enough to think
that they can change the world are
the one's who do.

PROMISE YOURSELF

The meaning of promise according to Wikipedia is a commitment by someone
to do or not to do something.  As a noun promise means a declaration assuring
that one will or will not do something.  As a verb it means to commit oneself
by a promise to do or give.  It can also mean a capacity for good, similar
to a value that is to be realized in the near future.
~
So
Don't make a promise you cannot keep
and
don't say something unless you mean it.
~
and
It is much better to promise nothing,
and try & give everything,
than promise everything,
and give nothing at all.
~
for
A promise means everything but
once it is broken, sorry
means nothing.
~
but
I hope this time you will honor your
promise to yourself.

"PROMISE YOURSELF"

To be strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that
there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best,
to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about
the success of others as
you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you
meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement
of yourself that you have not time
to criticize others,
to be too large for worry,
too noble for anger,
too strong for fear, and
too happy to permit the
presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and
to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but
great deeds.

To live in faith that
the whole world is
on your side as long as
you are true to the best
that is you!
~
This is the promise I made to myself,
I hope it is yours too!

DITA VON TEESE'S BEAUTY SECRETS

Dita Von Teese is the 'Goddess of Burlesque' and she put burlesque to a new level.  Burlesque is a literary, dramatic or musical work intended to cause laughter by caricaturing the manner or spirit of serious works, or by ludicrous treatment of their subjects.  Burlesque is derives from the Italian word 'burleseo', which in turn is from the Italian 'burla', which means a joke, redicule or mochery.

According to The Los Angeles Times, "the 'Burlesque's Goddess' attention to detail and embellished glitz on stage is unparalleled, even for pops stars.  From the sparkle of each and every Swarovski crystal to the sensual lightning that caresses her slender porcelain frame to the vampy music that sets the mood for the procession of themed vignettes your eye cannot turn away from the utter flawlessness of it all."

Moreover, Face Magazine described that, "the 'Queen of Burlesque' has earned her crown, the righteous heir to performers like Sally Rand, who was famous in the 30's for her naked feather dance.  Dita has taken the tradition, studied it and made it her own."

Dita Von Teese is also famous and well known on her vintage style of fashion, makeup and beauty.  In her book 'Your Beauty Mark', Dita described her beauty secrets and advices.  These are some of her beauty secrets:

Dita Von Teese's Beauty Secrets

"Don't underestimate the cosmetic power of sunglasses.  It's worth spending a bit of money on a quality pair.  I usually go for Dior or Louis Vuitton."

~
"Matte lipstick is really the key to being able to wear it in real life and eat with it, and speak without getting lipstick on your teeth."

~
"If you wear lipstick through the day, I always say you have to wipe it all off and start over rather than reapply it on top of each other otherwise you get the crusty look and it's not pretty."

~
"Glamour is not about how young you are, or how rich you are, how pretty you are, what size you are, what ethnicity you are.  Everyone can become glamorous if they choose to put the time into it, and devote part of their selves to it."

~
"Natural beauty is held in such high regard, whereas what you decide for yourself or what you create is put down.  Whether it's wearing red lipstick or having some kind of procedure, we should all be able to respect each other's choices."

~
In general, it was sort of considered a form of etiquette that you didn't leave the house without your hair done and your face on; I like that part of it.  But there're so many easier ways to get glamorous now.  I think it's the general overall philosophy behind beauty.  You put your best face forward because it's the right thing to do when you leave the house."

~
"My daily beauty routine is really about skin care, a little bit of sunscreen, a sweep of face powder, red lipstick and my hair in a chignon.  I really like simplified looks.  I don't get in full power glamour everyday.  So I think it's good to have a routine that you can do quickly."

~
"I always loved Betty Grable, because I loved that era of film.  I thought her backup casts had great looks such as Carmen Miranda who was always in her films.  I also liked Rita Hayworth.  I like Technocolor, because I wanted to see the vibrant lipstick, the blush and the lashes all in color.  So I loved that 1940's Fox  musical era."

MAKEUP AND WOMAN

Makeup is a subset of cosmetics that refers primarily to products containing color pigments that are intended to alter the user's appearance.

It is meant to be applied externally on the face and eye area with a brush, makeup sponge, or the fingers.

Around 5,000 years ago, ancient Sumerian men and women were the first to wear and probably invented  lipstick.  Sumerian crushed gemstones and used them to decorate their faces, mainly on the lips and around the eyes.

By 3000 BC to 1500 BC, women in ancient Indus Valley Civilization applied red tinted lipstick to their lips for face decoration.

An English excavator discover a 6000 year old relics of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs wearing organic substances to decorate his face.

By the time Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt came to power in first century BC,  Egyptian women had at their disposal an array of colorful cosmetics, which were made from rocks, minerals and plants found in the Nile region.

Cleopatra used the following materials such as:
~  bright green malachite paste of the ancient Egyptian on her lower eyelids,
~  Kohl used on her eyes as protection and decoration,
~  Castor oil used on her body as protective balm,
~  Beeswax, olive oil and rosewater as her skin cream.

The role of cosmetics continued to evolve over the centuries.

Here are some words that describe Makeup and it's effect to all women:

Makeup should never be used to hide yourself.
It should be used to enhance your natural beauty.

May your foundation match your neck,
Concealer be creaseless,
and winged eyeliner be sharp enough to kill.
Amen!

Makeup is used to highlight your face,
Not to hide it.

Makeup is not a mask.
Makeup is art.
Makeup is passion.
Makeup is expression.

If your sad, add more lipstick and attack!
(Coco Chanel)

On  a bad day there is always lipstick.

Makeup is not a tool meant to make
an ugly thing beautiful.
It is meant only to magnify the beauty
that already exists.

I believe that all women are pretty without makeup
and can be pretty powerful with the right makeup.
(Bobbi Brown)

Makeup is self-confidence applied directly to the face.

I wear makeup only to impress myself and say,
"damn bitch you looking fabulous today."

Yes, I wear makeup.
No, It isn't because I think I'm ugly!

Your makeup should never precede you,
but walk with you.
(Estee Lauder)

Why are you so dolled up?
You're not going to a fashion show.
~
The world is my runway!
Now, if you'll please,
Excuse me.

When you haven't worn makeup in a week
and you put on mascara and you'll like...
Move over Beyoncé...Mama's Back!

That's one of the thing I love about makeup,
You can change your whole attitude by just
doing your eyeliner or lipstick differently.
(Beyoncé)

Whether you are sixteen or over sixty, remember,
understatement is the rule of a fine makeup artist.

The best thing is to look natural,
But
It takes makeup to look natural.

Beauty is power, and makeup is something
that really enhances that;
It's a woman's secret.

Makeup is a way for a woman to look and feel like herself,
only prettier and more confident.
(Bobbi Brown)

Beauty to me is about being comfortable
in your own skin.
That, or a kick-ass red lipstick.
(Gwyneth Paltrow)

Give a girl the right makeup and she can conquer the world!

Put on some lipstick and pull yourself together.
(Elizabeth Taylor)

Lipstick is really magical.  It holds more than a
waxy bit of color - it holds the promise of a
brilliant smile, a brilliant day,
both literally and figuratively.
(Roberta Gately - Humanitarian & Writer)

Red lipstick is to beauty what the
LBD is to fashion.  The difference is that
when you walk into a room wearing a red lip,
that people will notice you.
(Francois Nars.)

Makeup can help you be yourself.
It's not about making you become
a different person -
It's about making you look better.
(Francois Nars)

She has a way with words, red lipstick
and making an entrance.
(Kate Spate)
